When It Rains, Your Yard Shouldn't Become a Pool

Blocked or broken stormwater doesn't just make puddles — it sends water at your foundations, under slabs and into downstairs rooms. Mason finds where it's failing and fixes it properly.

Sound familiar?

Stormwater Red Flags

  • Water pooling against the house every time it rains
  • Overflowing gutters and downpipes that back up
  • Stormwater pits that fill and don't drain
  • Soggy patches in the lawn days after rain
  • Water staining on retaining walls or paths
  • Downstairs damp, musty smells after storms

Blue Mountains storms hit hard and fast. Leaf litter, tree roots and older earthenware pipes make stormwater failures common up here — and worth fixing before the next big cell rolls through.

Water away from the house — where it belongs.
The fix

How Mason Fixes Stormwater Problems

1

Trace the flow

Map where water is meant to go, and find where it's actually going — blockage, break or bad fall.

2

Clear & inspect

Jetter and camera clear the line and show its true condition, not a guess.

3

Repair properly

Broken sections replaced, pits rebuilt or added, and falls corrected so water actually moves.

4

Storm-ready

The system is tested and you get plain-English advice to keep it flowing — like what to clear before storm season.

Stormwater FAQs

Is stormwater my responsibility or the council's?
On your property, it's yours — from roof gutters through downpipes, pipes and pits to the legal discharge point (usually the street kerb or an easement). From there, it's council. Mason will tell you honestly which side of the line your problem sits on.
Why does my yard flood even though the drains were “cleared”?
Clearing a blockage doesn't fix a broken or back-falling pipe. If water keeps pooling, a camera inspection shows whether the pipe itself has failed — that's the real cause more often than not.
Can tree roots block stormwater like sewer drains?
Absolutely — even more easily, because stormwater pipes are often shallower and older. Roots chase the moisture. Clearing plus a proper repair or reline stops the cycle.
Do I need more drainage, or repairs to what's there?
Sometimes both. If your existing system is sound but overwhelmed, added pits or channel drains help. If it's broken underground, adding more drains just feeds the same failure. The camera tells the truth — then you decide with real information.
